Day 5
"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers." (Ephesians 4:29)
Another way to describe the positive side of this "30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge" is by using the word "edify," which means, "to build up." Negative comments only discourage and tear down. Positive comments encourage and build.
Do you edify your husband before others, adding to his value in their eyes? This is especially important with other family members.
Do you praise your husband to his relatives, and yours? Does your husband's mother know how much you love him? How about your dad? Perhaps you can drop a word of praise into a conversation or letter. Be creative in letting your relatives know that you respect your husband, love him, and support him--in spite of whatever flaws and weaknesses he may have.
This was todays challenge and I just thought it was so good. This is something I really need to work on. A friend of mine, that is also doing this challenge, said today that we need to give our words to Christ first. Although, thats easier said than done, it can be done. My prayer today is that I can learn to do that.
P.S. MY HUSBAND ROCKS!!!!!

Day 4
Wow, its amazing how much you can learn about yourself in four days. The first crazy thing I did was pray that He would show me. Show me what I did not know but oh my! Today was about encouraging our husbands and not dumping on them. I am so bad about that. I tend to save it for him. Poor guy, its a wonder that he even wants to come home. : ) I hope to have time later this week to share what I've learned. Good luck encouraging your husband! May God bless you!

"Challenge"
I've decided to start a 30 day challenge with some friends to learn to encourage our husbands. I have to admit, its been a huge challenge. Today was day one and it has been a very hard day. I don't think we have fought this much in a long time. We are supposed to be only speaking and thinking positive things. I've completely failed!! I'm very encouraged though that tomorrow is a new day and that Satan will not win. For those who want to join me in this (The challenge not the failing) I hope you will. I think its going to be a really awesome thing. Its going to be hard at times and Satan is going to try to interfere, but if God is for us who can be agianst us?? So my prayer is that I can come out of this as a better wife and that my husband will be encouraged.
Day 1 down and 29 to go!!

Remember

I'm so blessed to have the greatest friends ever.
Today I decided I was going to wake up and get through this day without crying, but God had a different plan. : ) Everyone was so sweet. I got flowers from two people, dinner made for me, sweet cards and tons of calls. The things that were said to me today were so encouraging and comforting.
There is a sense of loss that I don't think I can ever get over, but as someone put it today, he is still alive. He is alive in our memories and all the blessings he has left us.(and boy do we have some) How awesome is that to remember and what a great gift from God!
